Sergio Cazares

Sergio Cazares, age 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at his home in Artesia, CA, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born December 29, 1942, in La Piedad, Michoacan, Mexico, to parents Elvira and Epigmenio Cazares. He married Maria Luisa Cazares on July 26, 1970, in Los Angeles, CA. He dedicated much of his life to wood refinishing, a supervisor at Sherwood Shutters when he retired.

Sergio is survived by his wife, Maria Luisa; his three children, Sergio Jr., Liliana, and Alejandro; one grandchild, Diego; and three loving dogs, Chewiee, Bailey, and Woody.

Above all, Sergio treasured his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather. He lived his life quietly and consistently, without drawing attention to himself. He was a strong man with remarkable resilience and determination, as he fought so long due to several illnesses. He also carried a great deal of fight with him. Though he accomplished much, he remained humble and never sought recognition. He was known for his sense of humor, kindness, honesty, intelligence, and strong work ethic, as well as the quiet intensity that defined his presence.

We gather not to mourn but to honor his legacy. Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. Join us as we honor a life of wisdom, kindness, and love. His life was a gift to us all.
