Carmela Martinez Gomez, affectionately known as "Came," passed away peacefully on October 30, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and unwavering dedication to her family. Born on April 28, 1950, Carmela embodied the essence of a loving daughter, devoted wife, nurturing mother, and cherished grandmother. She lived her life with a great sense of humor, bringing joy and laughter to those fortunate enough to know her.
Came's journey in life was marked by her deep faith and love for her family. Alongside her beloved husband, Luz Gómez, she created a warm and welcoming home where love and service to others flourished. Her daughters, Adela, Blanca, Lupe, Viviana, Luz, Francisca, Carmen, and Rosa, along with her 31 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. They remember her not only for her strength and resilience but also for her boundless affection and the comforting presence she was in their lives.
Carmela had a passion for shopping and loved indulging in spa days, where she would relish being pampered. Her zest for life was evident in everything she did, especially in the way she cherished time spent with her family and friends.
Carmela is preceded in death by her parents, Francisca Martinez Velasquez and Manuel Martinez, and her brothers, Juan and Antonio Martinez. She is also mourned by her granddaughter, Daniela Zavala, who now joins the others in holding her memory dear.
Her life will be celebrated with a viewing on November 19, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Norco Family Funeral Home, located at 2645 Hamner Ave, Norco, CA. A Mass in her honor will take place on November 20, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Edwards Catholic Church, 417 W Grand Blvd, Corona, CA, followed by her burial at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park and Mortuary, 11500 Arlington Ave, Riverside, CA at 1:30 PM.
Though her physical presence will be missed, Carmela's spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, as they take solace in knowing she is at peace, watching over them with the same love that she has always given. To her dear family, she will always remain a source of strength and unconditional love.
