Alfredo Magaña

November 3, 1967 — April 29, 2025

Montebello

Alfredo Magaña was 57 years young, a loving father to two children, stepfather, husband, grandfather and brother. He lived an unassuming life, did not ask for anything nor cared to wait for anyone either. He was hardworking and cared deeply for his family no matter what life threw at him. He was an animal control officer for over 20 years because he just loved animals. Ever since a child, he had a connection to them and carried that throughout his life. He worked his way through the ranks and eventually became an investigator for animal cruelty cases for Long Beach Animal Care Services. He loved what he did, and he showed that love every day of his life.

He was a caring and loving person, did not say a lot, but always knew the right moment to speak up. He was a fan of horse racing and going to the casino. Also, a big crypto collector (thanks to his son Andy) and watched the stock market. He loved to collect plants and birds. He also loved to joke around, sometimes a little too much. You would never know when something was a joke but when the time came you knew when he was serious. He had that way about him but always knew when to make you laugh and make the day more joyful. He would always make us laugh with his spanglish catch phrases like total or chale.

Our family is left shocked with his passing but it brings comfort knowing he is now at peace and without pain. He recently had surgery due to inflammation in his knee and he was going through a lot when it came to walking and getting around the house. This is the hardest moment in all of our lives and we wish we had more time but god had different plans for him. He was our rock and held our family together. We love you dad, husband, grandpa, brother and pray you are smiling down on us.

See you next time,

Magaña Family
